SHORT BIO OF ORGANIZER, KEYNOTE SPEAKERS, AND PANELISTS

Dr. Semih Aslan, an accomplished academic and professional, currently serves as an Associate Professor and the Electrical Engineering Program Coordinator within the Ingram School of Engineering. His extensive career includes a significant role as a Senior FPGA Design Engineer in the Motorola LTE Division and a post-doctoral researcher at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Dr. Aslan worked with minority students for over ten years as a full-time instructor on the west side of Chicago. Furthermore, he holds the distinction of being the founding director of the esteemed System Modeling and Renewable Technology (SMART) Lab, an integral part of the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University. Dr. Aslan's distinguished research pursuits encompass a wide spectrum of vital areas, including but not limited to renewable energy, sensor modeling, signal conditioning, embedded systems, Machine Learning, and hardware optimization.

 

Kathleen A. Kramer is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of San Diego, San Diego, CA, USA. She is a Distinguished Lecturer for IEEE Aerospace & Electronics Systems Society (AESS), and an active member of MTT-S and SPS, among others. She has worked as a Member of Technical Staff at several companies including ViaSat, Hewlett Packard, and Bell Communications Research. Her technical interests are in multisensor data fusion and applications of neural and fuzzy systems to navigation and data security. She is also internationally known as a leader in accreditation and has been named a Fellow of ABET. She is the 2024 IEEE President Elect, and has a record of leadership across IEEE, emphasizing especially advancing Women in Engineering, Young Professionals, and Student Activities. She received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering magna cum laude with a second major in physics from Loyola Marymount University, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

 

Emre Ayranci is the Director of RFIC Design at Murata pSemi in San Diego focusing on 5G RF front end ICs for flagship smartphones with over 30 granted and pending patents, after experiences at Intel, Broadcom, Marvel, German Aerospace Center and a startup as a lead designer for 10-100Gb/s wireline and wireless transceivers. He is the Future Networks Steering & Strategy committee SSCS rep, FNWF general co-chair, IEEE YP past chair, MGA SPC training strategy lead and R6 SPC chair. He has served at several IEEE leadership positions such as SSCS YP Committee Chair, SSCS Secretary/ Governance Chair, IEEE YP Vice Chair/TAB YP rep, Benelux YP and Professional activities Chair, Denmark student rep, founder and chair of Technical University of Denmark and Sabanci University student branches. He is the author and co-author of several ISSCC and JSSC papers, a data converter book chapter, IEEE R8 SPC finalist and IEEE Denmark SPC best paper award recipient.

 

Fawzi is currently the founder and president of TelNet Management Consulting Inc. offering international professional services in the areas of technology trends; positioning and building smart networking ecosystem solutions in key markets. Prior, Fawzi held various executive and leadership positions with Tier 1 companies in the areas of communications and networking in Canada and US. He championed the development of Telecom Network Management systems, led efforts in rolling out product releases for network edge and core and marketing SoC product line and roadmap.
 
 
Fawzi is a distinguished Lecturer and keynote speaker at several national and international conferences and events. He has several publications, co-authored a book “Collaborative Internet of Things for Future Smart Connected Life and Business” published by Wiley. Fawzi is a Co-founder of “IoT in Healthcare ConsortiumÔ” of Intelligent Health Association (IHA) and is a faculty advisor with Texas State school of Engineering with Capstone Senior Design program. 
 

Fawzi is serving second term as ComSoc North America Director and ComSoc BoG member, and board, MGA-C and IOB board member. He is a voting member of IEEE Conference Committee & finance Ad Hoc committee, FNTC SC Chair elect, Co-Chair of Future Network Education working group, Co-Chair of IEEE Transdisciplinary Framework working group. Fawzi chaired several conferences, summits, and panels. Among the most recent is the General Chair of IEEE WCNC 2022. Fawzi received multiple awards for his professional leadership, including the IEEE USA professional leadership award, IEEE Communications Society NAB Exceptional Service Award, and several regional outstanding services award. Fawzi has MBA, master’s in computer science, bachelor’s in science with Honours in Mathematics with Distinction.
